The Daily is operated out of the offices of Boulder`s Camera newspaper. Originally the student newspaper of the University of Colorado, the Daily became independent in 1970 and has undergone several ownership changes since 2001, coming under the control of the Camera, its former competitor, when it was purchased by the E.W. Scripps Co. in 2005. The newspaper and its website, coloradodaily.com, continue to focus much of their coverage on the university.
