It connects to high speed lines to Bologna (and on to Rome) and Turin and conventional railways to Bologna, Turin, Venice, Genoa, Domodossola (for the Simplon and Bern), Chiasso (for the Gotthard and Zurich Hauptbahnhof) and Lecco.
