Recycled pulp is made from old newspapers, office paper waste, magazines, etc. Most paper that is recycled and pulped is mixed with cooked virgin pulp. Paper can only be recycled a few times before the fibers break down beyond what is acceptable to papermaking. Rag pulp is made from cotton. Paper made from cotton produces a high-quality, strong paper. This pulp is used mostly in writing grade papers and blended with virgin cooked fiber. A 25% cotton sheet will contain 25% cotton fiber and 75% virgin fiber.
