AltGr is a modifier key found on many computer keyboards and primarily used to type characters that are unusual for the locale of the keyboard layout, such as currency symbols and accented letters. It is effectively similar to the ? Shift key, which can be used in combination with a character-producing key to type a second-level character – typically the uppercase variant of a letter.
