High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In India, the National Highways are the primary long-distance roadways. Most are maintained by the Government of India, others are operated under a public-private partnership by the private sector. Most are two-lane (one in each direction). They span about 67,000 km (42,000 mi), of which about 200 km (120 mi) are designated expressways and 10,000 km (6,200 mi) have four lanes or more. Indian highways constitute approximately 2% of the total road network of India, but carry nearly 40% of the total traffic. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The National Cycle Network is a network of cycle routes in the United Kingdom. The National Cycle Network was created by the charity Sustrans (Sustainable Transport), and aided by a 42.5 million National Lottery grant. In 2005 it was used for over 230 million trips. Many routes hope to minimise contact with motor traffic, though 70% of them are on roads. In some cases the NCN uses pedestrian routes, disused railways, minor roads, canal towpaths, or traffic-calmed routes in towns and cities. Some places have more off-road paths than others - Stoke-on-Trent, for instance, uses canal towpaths and its old mineral/clay railway network to provide over 100 miles (160 km) of off-road paths through the...

The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) is a science, technology, and energy laboratory owned and operated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). As part of DOE's national laboratory system, NETL supports DOE's mission to advance the national, economic, and energy security of the United States. Through onsite and contracted research, NETL develops technologies to resolve the environmental, supply, and reliability constraints of producing and using fossil resources. Resolving these constraints is critical to ensure reliable, secure, affordable, and environmentally responsible supplies of energy for the...

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A National Stock Number (NSN) is a 13-digit numeric code, identifying all the 'standardized material items of supply' as they have been recognized by the United States Department of Defense. Pursuant to the NATO Standardization Agreements (STANAGs), the NSN has come to be used in all treaty countries, where it is also known as a NATO Stock Number. However, many countries that use the NSN progamme are not members of NATO, e.g. Japan, Australia and New Zealand. A two-digit Material Management Aggregation Code (MMAC) suffix may also be appended, to denote asset end use but it is not considered part of the NSN. An item having an NSN is said to be "stock-listed". Данное издание не...

A numerical study has been carried out in differentially heated square cavities, which are formed by horizontal adiabatic walls and vertical isothermal walls. Three cases have been considered. First is Natural convection in a cavity without any fins, second is that with one fin and the third is with two fins each placed equidistant from the center on the hot wall. Heat transfer by natural convection is studied by numerically solving equations of continuity, momentum and energy. A parametric study is carried out using the following parameters: Rayleigh number from 104 to 107, Prandtl number of 0.729, internal fin length of 0.10 m. A total of 24 cases have been considered and plotted using Fluent. Данное издание не...

The growing demand on natural gas leads to the necessity to upgrade sub-quality gas. This sub-quality gas partly contains high amounts of nitrogen and/or carbon dioxide, sometimes helium is even a component of natural gas. To achieve pipeline and sales gas specification it is necessary to remove non desired components. Higher hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane, butane and pentane and helium can form valuable by-products. It is economically feasible to recover helium, if the amount in natural gas is higher than 0.1 mol%. Some of the recovery processes are well known from air separation: - Cryogenic single column. - Cryogenic double column. - Adsorption (Pressure Swing Adsorption, PSA). In the last decades three additional processes were...

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Natural gas processing plants, or fractionators, are used to purify the raw natural gas extracted from underground gas fields and brought up to the surface by gas wells. The processed natural gas, used as fuel by residential, commercial and industrial consumers, is almost pure methane and is very much different from the raw natural gas.Raw natural gas comes primarily from any one of three types of wells: crude oil wells, gas wells, and condensate wells.Natural gas that comes from crude oil wells is typically termed associated gas. This gas can exist separate from the crude oil in the underground formation, or dissolved in the crude oil. Данное издание не является...

A natural building involves a range of building systems and materials that place major emphasis on sustainability. Ways of achieving sustainability through natural building focus on durability and the use of minimally-processed, plentiful or renewable resources, as well as those which, while recycled or salvaged, produce healthy living environments and maintain indoor air quality. Natural building tends to rely on human labor, more than technology. As Michael G. Smith observes, it depends on "local ecology, geology and climate; on the character of the particular building site, and on the needs and personalities of the builders and users."The basis of natural building is the need to lessen the environmental impact of buildings and other...

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A naturoid, as defined by the Theory of Naturoids, is a reproduction of an object or process that already exists in the natural world, using techniques and materials that differ from those found in nature. The term was coined in the 1990s, by Massimo Negrotti, professor of methodology at the University of Urbino, Italy, and refers to mankind's ambition, present since ancient times, to reproduce natural objects and processes. More recent developments include the well-known 18th-century automata, prosthetics and modern-day robotics. Partially similar concepts include "synthetic" and "alternative" technological realizations. Данное издание не является...

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A naturally-aspirated engine is one common type reciprocating piston internal combustion engine that depends solely on atmospheric pressure to counter the partial vacuum in the induction tract to draw in combustion air. This is in contrast to a forced induction engine, in which a mechanically-driven supercharger, or an exhaust-driven turbocharger is employed to facilitate in increasing the mass of intake air beyond what could be produced by atmospheric pressure alone. In a naturally-aspirated engine; air for combustion (diesel cycle in a diesel engine, or specific types of Otto cycle in petrol engines - namely gasoline direct injection), or an air/fuel mixture (traditional Otto cycle petrol...

Nautilus, first tested in 1800, is often considered the first practical submarine, though preceded by Cornelius Drebbel's of 1620. The Nautilus was designed between 1793 and 1797 by the American inventor Robert Fulton, then living in the French First Republic. He proposed to the Directory that they subsidize its construction as a means to balance British seapower, but he was turned down. His second proposal to them was that he be paid nothing until the Nautilus had sunk British shipping, and then only a small percentage of the prize money. Again, the design was rejected. Fulton directed his next proposal to the...

It uses the linear predictive coding algorithm LPC-10 at 2.4 kilobits/second. The name is most likely a reference to the Navajo code talkers of World War II. Данное издание не является оригинальным.
